I'm with you on this. They've really messed this up. Going to transfer everything back to my Note 10 Plus now. I now have to move all my work verification apps back. Good luck with your return, i've just been told it could take up to 2+ weeks for a replacement...

Hey Mikhael Naidoo,
For me, it does overheat whilst watching videos on youtube or Netflix, not so bad with WhatsApp calls but I think it's not far off TBH. Camera, in particular, makes it induction plate to a point I would reheat my coffee **jokes**.
I called them this afternoon and they told me the same thing! A pickup can be arranged for Monday and it will be sent to the warehouse, the replacement unit will be sent within 3-5 days cannot guarantee because of pre-orders. I have asked them if they can pick up & drop the new unit at the same time, I got a straight NO. I don't have a spare phone. Not an android anyway for me to send this and wait for a replacement.
I had S10+ which was amazing but to buy the Ultra I made a sacrifice :(.
I was thinking to buy a new phone and send this one back for a refund but you lose all the freebies lol, I did call their technical team first and they were really helpful, they also advised using the device to the bare minimum. The guy I spoke to also took time to guide me through certain stuff to see if it would fix the issue, which included factory reset the dive and run it as a fresh device without restoring the phone. And all this happened whilst being on the other end of the phone (landline), and he knew that I have already called the sales team to register this fault. Uber helpful dude!
On the other hand, their sales team was utterly incompetent and had the don't care attitude once you have purchased the unit. I was very disappointed by the customer service.

Hey Mikhael Naidoo,
For me, it overheats when you watch youtube or any other apps like Netflix/ prime but not as much as when I use the camera. Funny enough, it doesn’t on WhatsApp, at least not yet. But as soon as I start using the camera, it overheats to a point I could reheat my coffee on it **JOKES**
I called Samsung technical team, and the guy I spoke to was very helpful. Took time to understand the problem and was on the phone for almost 30 mins whilst we tested a few things to make sure it was the device and not some dodgy app causing the issue. I ended up the factory reset the phone whilst he was on the phone and tested the camera app without a restore. He was Uber helpful, and he knew I already called sales team to report the issue and advised a replacement.
Their Sales team on the other hand was utterly incompetent. I was told the same that they could arrange a pickup on Monday and I could receive replacement unit 3-5 days after the phone reached their warehouse. It could take longer because of preorders.
I made a massive mistake to send in my S10+ for ultra and now I cannot use a phone if I had to send this one in. I asked the lady if they can arrange a pick up and drop the replacement at the same time. It was a straight NO. I was a bit disappointed and it felt like they don’t care once you have purchased the phone.
I thought of returning this one and get a new one instead, which could be a quicker option but you lose all the freebies ☹

Hi @Vij,
Yeah I'm doing a replacement so I can keep the extras as well. They made it very clear I'd lose all the extras otherwise.
I ordered one for my sister yesterday and they're delivering on Tuesday, so find it hard to believe they didn't have any replacements available.
Fingers crossed my replacement solves this and the second device I ordered for my sister isn't the same. Otherwise this entire process is going to be a mess.

According The Elec Korean Electronic News Samsung did knew about overheating issues before release

That's not good enough for a £1300 flagship device.

You're phone is a little Worm? Now that is worrying!

Mine is the same with the heat. Left side of the phone gets extremely hot. It's not normal in my opinion. Patch or no patch it shouldn't get this hot, the back also heats up. This was with normal use this evening. I will be speaking to EE in the morning.

This is bad, they knew overheating issue and still sent bad phones to loyal customers who pre-ordered. They seem to screw up every alternate flagship model.
I am keeping it away while Samsung comes back to me on what to do. I don't want it to explode 😀
