Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had a fix for the battery draining with the new software.
My S21 updated overnight to the new software, and in less than 30 mins the battery is down by 24%.
Yesterday this took approximately 2 hours to happen with ongoing phone usage.

Hi,

The new update on phone is really draining my battery. Before the update, I had no issues with my phone. Now I need to recharge for my atleast 4 times a day. As an example my phone was at 100% battery at 8.57 am and by 9.00am it just died.

I've deleted alot of my apps and I've cleared the cache, but the battery still drains fairly quickly.

How can I uninstall this update please?

Thank you.

If your battery dies in 3 minutes, I'd be worried the phone is damaged. No update is ever going to do this, intentionally or otherwise. Rolling back is as it always has been, not an official option with android. Could you explain what it is you're doing with your phone in order to deplete a 100% working battery in 3 minutes? Technically it is impossible for your device to consume this much power in 3 minutes as the typical battery in a smartphone are 1C rated. In other words, it is only possible to deplete a fully charged battery in 1 hour at best.

Hi @MuseFuji  Welcome to the Samsung community :smiling-face:

With the new software there is a Battery relearning phase which can take up to 14 days.  There will be an impact on Battery drain during this time frame though it does seem to be a bit excessive. Bear in mind though that with the age of your Device there will be some Battery degregation.

However did you clear the cache partition as recommended after major updates.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Another idea is to Reset the Battery stats, ensure Auto Blocker is toggled off and in the Samsung phone App dial *#9900#,scroll down and tap Battery stats Reset and restart Device. Whilst I have known this credit to @lminvti  @Piper123 and @Moiramon who have mentioned this fairly recently.

Hi there. If the phone is draining within 3 minutes, then it would certainly need to be checked by a Samsung engineer. I'd suggest that you book a repair on the Samsung website here: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/repair/

This is also because you'd be unable to try effective troubleshooting steps if the phone turns off within 3 minutes.

What is it good for? The battery stats removal??? I clear the cage etc via antivir amd cleaning app and it never was an issue. Now after update my phone (s23) bought sloghtly after releas date, is stucking, freezing etc even when not app opened, only camera for example...it is annoyi g as it is slow as it is Nokia 3310... I didnt change anything recently except the stu*id software update .... so whst is the issue then if not the update...? Hm...
