I'm not explaining this very well lol but I filmed some clips with my S21 and I am trying to put it together as a movie to put on tiktok.
I filmed all of the clips using the full ratio setting if I am saying that correctly. When I went to edit using the editor, there was only the 9:16 ratio option and not the full option from what I can tell.
So in the editor, I was using that little expand button that makes it fill the screen. Some clips only needed me to do that once and some clips no matter what I do will revert back and there is black spacing on the sides. I did a test upload to tiktok to see if it would be noticeable and it was.
As I type this, I wonder if I am going to insist on using the full option and not 9:16 when recording, do I need to get an editor that allows you to edit in full? Or am I missing something with this editor?
I filmed all of these clips at the same time using the same phone so I think it is strange that some of them are expanding to fill the screen no problem and some won't no matter how many times I click on that expand button.
I wonder if I should just restart the phone to see if that helps anything.
Anyone else having this or a similar problem?

I'm surprised nobody's replied. Here it is 2025 Samsung s25 and still no option to save in original format aka (FULL) if that was how the videos were shot. Every other aspect ratio is listed but FULL. And all other editors I've used naturally retain the FULL aspect ratio when merging (creating movies) it's tedious to alway save in 9:16 wait for the edits to render. Re-eddit the video choose crop and finally FULL is there, wait for it to render again when it could just be in the first menu requiring one edit only. Samsung you alive listening?
