Edge panel swipe is just going back

Can't for the life of me figure out how to change this. Basically, when I swipe the edge panel it's acting like the back button and not actually displaying it (instead the screen just goes back one).

The edge panel us enabled correctly etc.

i belive (im not sure) there is a setting to set gestures to be aviable only for the bottom part of the display, so when you're swiping from the middle up wont interfere. An alternative will be using swipe from bottom, you still get the immersive benefits from it.

I'm not certain but have you checked the Settings??
If you open the "Settings" Menu,
Then open "Display" menu,
Then open "Navigation Bar".
That will give you the option to choose between "Button" OR "Swipe Gestures".
Maybe you could try & see if that solves your problem.

you can change the position of the edge panel , instead of hating it at the bottom of your screen you could have it in the middle or at the top

- open edge panel
- click on the setting sign
top right (3 dots ) bottom right you can change the position of it

Thanks all, appreciate your responses. Finally realised what I'd done - had another app enabled that overwrote the permissions for left and right swipes, sorted!
