Knox trip

Anyone know how to sort this? I tried putting a one ui 6.1.1 port on my s21 but it failed so I reinstalled the original software (recovery included) but some apps now don't work such as the health app and pass is there anyway to sort this? Or am I going to have to deal with this till I get a new phone?

I don't know how you thought the foldable version would work on a non-foldable phone. The S21 already has version 6.1, without many AI features, but it's the same version as 6.1.1 for foldable phones. Once rooted, a phone can no longer use many Samsung apps and there's nothing you can do about it.

You won't get an answer on the Samsung forum, look for it somewhere else, where you downloaded the custom ROM.

That's kind of the problem here, you've tried to install a custom firmware and it failed. You shouldn't be asking on the official forums as this is the risk you take, especially if you require assistance after the fact.

Hello 👋 @Z4D5

You'll need a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre to out this right however they may charge a fee due to the process you've tried.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I assumed it was xda. But even there, in every thread with Custom ROMs, it always says in big letters that everyone downloads modified software at their own risk. The S21 has already lost its warranty, and if Samsung in the UK fixes rooted phones, then do as you are suggested, but it will cost you a lot, so see if it is even worth it. S21 will lose Samsung security support next year. You are better off buying a new phone and not playing with custom ROMs 😋

I have a little more to add. Your phone has a system called an efuse within it. When you installed the custom rom, your phone permanent got marked as being modified. So nothing you can really do can enable knox again. Go to a samsung store and they might be able to reset it.

Technically if you run a rooted rom, there is a way to trick knox into activating again. But I really don't recommend that

Ye,ye,ye, we won't recommend the program on M here, on xda it's no secret what it's about 😛

Think that would be the best plan.  certainly we would not give detailed advice on custom roms here and I would generally not recommend it, always some risk.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
