Call sound issues - others can't hear me during calls

Hi there,

Ever since I got my Samsung Galaxy S21 I have an issue where when either making or receiving calls I can hear the other person but they can't hear me.

Initially I thought it might be a signal problem but it happens wherever I am, I have even turned on wifi calling to get around signal issues.

If I call via whatsapp or facebook messenger then it is totally fine so its not a problem with the microphone. It happens whether i'm using the phone as normal or with earbuds.

In addition sometimes when someone calls I press the button to answer the call and it says it has answered but the phone is still ringing so the call isn't actually connected.

It feels like it is an issue with the phone and not my signal as with old phone (S10) it was fine in the same areas and no issue.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

I'm going to try this thanks! I found wifi calling helped a bit but hopefully this will do the trick. Thanks for sharing

I'm starting to think it's just a case of most landlines being too old to be able to connect with new smartphones.

I’m having same issue. Sometimes no one can hear me or they say my voice breaks up. Some sometimes when making the call there’s a change in the volume & I can hear the other person more clearly, it’s as if the WiFi calling mode kicks in & they can call me. Bought in August & on Three network.

I fixed my call drop issues by switching from Verizon to AT&T. Also, after switching I still had issues.  Come to find out, AT&T didn't input my phone's IMEI number correctly.  After having them verify, it's been running perfect.  So, to recap, check if hour provider has good service in your area and if so verify that they registered your IMEI properly

I'm speechless. I've struggled with my new S21 for a couple of months to understand why I cannot be heard by the other person, changing settings, walking about the house and garden to see if signal from one of three nearby transmitters can be improved, etc., and all the time it's been because Samsung cannot manufacture a phone!

Looks like this will be my last Samsung phone, unless they provide a solution quickly.

I have the same problem

Given the number of posts about this it has to be a known issue for Samsung. At this point I would like a full refund so I can leave this behind for good.

The only issue I'm having is call quality, anyone on the other end can't hear me.  If I'm in the car with my phone connected calls  work perfectly.  Based on the number of complaints here and on the web, Samsung has clearly screwed up something and are unwilling to acknowledge or fix the problem.

To be quite honest this is a joke ,I had this problem with the S20 and now like you all I am having this problem with the S21. I purchased the S21 when they were first released . This happens even if the person is on the same network as I am on. Samsung if you cannot fix this issues then a refund should be the only solution for us all.
