None of the apps can record anything from the mic1 (bottom), members diagnostics and voice recorder included. Voice recorder only works with stereo settings on. Camera recorder and calls are OK. There is nothing in the hole, mic permissions are on, apps also have permission to use the mic. And I haven't poked in to that hole mistakenly, because i did that with my previous Samsung. It all started after the latest updates (ui6, and the additional one- security patch level 1. December). App in question is not mutted (universal tuner). Thank you for your help.

Im having the same issue this is my first experience of samsung after years and it has been such a failure so far i use voice records very frequently and this is causing me to lose time and say things twice sometimes it is such a disappointment

Unfortunately the last update did not solve this i cannot comprehened how they are able to delay and not fix this? it is super emergent it is a super simple feature that is usable in every phone but we are having problems because of the ui6 update and it is still not fixed

You can change the settings in Voice Recorder to "Record in stereo", so at least you will be able to use that app.

hi,
im having the problem with A73 5G. nothing helped( factory reset. hard reset. Samsung members support).
by running diagnostic tool by Samsung members, it appears to be having problem with mic 1.
i've sent errors report by this samsung members tools.
what else could be done?

I have a similar issue on z flip 3 though the mic doesn't even work during calls. It worked perfectly fine literally half an hour before I updated, then the update to ui6 and then I only hear a "boom" sound while recording and nothing after

No. I have changed the cable that connects daughter board with the main board, changed daughter board, still the same, so I bought a new phone. Might have been some other hardware issue.

I have the exact same problem with a A52s, directly after the OneUI6.1 update. Prior to that never had any issues with the mic.
The microphone actually works, which can be proven by recording very very loud sounds. This can not be a hardware issue. Looks like the recording sensitivity has been "dialed down" to almost nothing.
Both previous updates did not fix it. But camera mic works and cics plugged into the headphone jack works.
The phone always has been super clean, and is rarely used, so certainly no dirt in the mic hole.
Tried wiping cache partition, reset config, complete factory reset, even applying new image via Samsung Smartswitch. Permissions all fine and default.
The phone is effectively unusable as a phone, in particular when out and about with no head set at hand. I would not hand the device in to my local official SAMSUNG support, due to a terrible experience there with one of my many other problems with this device. And since this seems to affect multiple Galaxy models, including apparently S24 Ultra, i'd like to know how SAMSUNG deals with such issues before replacing my device.
I definitely not want to make such a experience after having purchased a S-class Samsung device...
