Bixby routine not working after latest update

I have a bixby routine to turn on the mobile hot spot on my s10e when it connects to the Bluetooth in my car.

This has worked without problems up until now, but it no longer does.

I've cleared all the data, cache, created a new routine but it's still the same. The Bluetooth connects but the hot-spot doesn't start any more.

I don't know if this is related to the recent update to android 12 / ui 4 but it seems like a bit of a coincidence ...

Any ideas?

Bixby routines also stopped working for me, car stereo connects to Bluetooth but the routine isn't triggered, I've tried everything but it will not work unless I try to connect to a Bluetooth device that's out of range, then it switches on, still switches off when I turn my car off though.

Exactly the same issue here.  Have tried all the usual "fixes" for this kind of problem: (delete phone from car and re-pair it, delete Bixby routine and re-create it, etc etc).  LIke other posters here, I find that if the whole Bixby environment is shut down and re-started then my car routine works once, but not a second time.

Would be great if someone at Samsung would acknowledge this fault exists, and that they are working to correct it.

Hi Everyone,

I think I have found a solution!!!

I had exactly the same issue after the Android version update and OneUI update, the same routine stopped working in my car. After the connection has been established with my car radio, the phone supposed to turn on the Mobile Hotspot to share the internet with the Android head unit, but this has been stopped working.

Yesterday I have figured it out, when I open the bluetooth connection properties, from now it is not enough to connect your phone to the head unit only for calls, IT SHOULD BE connected to the MEDIA as well. Once I have enabled the Media connection too, the Hotspot started immediately. Then I have stopped the car, turned off the radio, and next time, and also today the routine started immediately!

So if you have just connected your phone for the calls without the media, connect that as well, and it should work. Somehow the routine does not handle the partial bluetooth connection like before, and I hope this will help for Samsung too to fix this, as I dont want to route my media sounds to the head unit by default.

That works, yes.

But, in my case, when the phone is connected for calls, media and adress book, if i start a phone call, it takes much more time for the sound of the phone to start playing in the car speakers. I just went ahead and made a widget with the routine. This way i press a button and it starts the routine.

Thanks for the help!

I am not getting the same results. My BT connections are enabled for both Calls and Audio.

Note 20 Ultra here. A couple of my automatic Bixby profiles are broken after the Android 12 update. Mostly they don't turn on the mobile net, when they are supposed to do. For example, leaving home, turn off WiFi, and turn on mobile net. The profile runs, turns off wifi, but doesn't turn on the mobile net.

After some extended testing, I might have found the source of this problem with the Bixby “Driving” routine. The routine appears to terminate abnormally (crashes) because it fails to execute the action “Keep your phone unlocked” - which is already included in the default version of the routine.

WORKAROUND Mar 29 2022

[Note: the following applies to Android 12 only]

1. Open the “Driving” routine for editing. Delete the “Keep phone unlocked” action, save and exit.

2. Go to phone Settings > Smart Lock > Trusted Devices. Add the vehicle's Bluetooth device name by selecting from the list. Save and exit.

The phone now remains unlocked while connected to the the vehicle, and the Bixby routine functions correctly.

Happens on my a52s too after the latest update. I have set dolby atmos to music mode whenever Spotify and youtube music apps are opened but now it just plainly doesn't work. Although other routines work just fine
