I have a similar problem.  My car is a Mitsubishi Outlander.  Android auto works well since I bought an adapter to the original cable, but I can' hear to other people just when I make the call by voice command, and they hear me.  If someone calls me, I answer by pressing the button at the wheel  or by touching the screen, the communication works right.  Also if I make the call using the phone app in the car (looking for my contacts and touching the screen,  it works)

I solved the problem adding and adapter between the original cable and the USB port in my car. Hope it would work for you too.

Just had the g996bxxu3buk8  firmware update to UI4.0 and now the phone won't connect to the car (2021 Audi A3). It's fine over BT, but AA has stopped working. Tried a few cables (short and the original) with either USB-A to Type C or Type C to Type C and no luck.

It's a bit frustrating as it's been fine since I first received the phone this year.

Galaxy Ultra 21 would not connect to Audi MMI Android Auto after Android 12 upgrade.  Tried clearing data, caches, restarts, etc.

A total phone reset and restore fixed the fault.

I've got error messages from the phone and the car about inability to connect (Hyundai i30, 2019) asking me to reconnect phone. After some fiddling (delete Android auto's data, make sure USB connection is set to Android auto, all permissions granted etc.). It ends on inability of the Google Assistent to set up. I left the phone connected for a while (over two minutes or so) and it begins to work suddenly 🙂

My s9 work just fine but my new S21 wouldn't get passed the park vehicle screen. Then I down loaded Google Services App and now it work great

try using a sorter cable. I used the cable that comes with  JBL Bluetooth Truly Wireless Reflect Mini NC and it works since then. I dont know if its the length the transfer rate or both.
