How to use Clip Studio Paint on your Galaxy Tab S8

Have you got a creative streak? Do you like nothing more than to whip out a sketchpad and doodle away for hours? Maybe you’re a pro painter with your own studio and piles of paintbrushes. Or you might just be starting out and getting to grips with the basics. Wherever you are in your creative journey, Clip Studio Paint is the perfect app to have on your Galaxy Tab S8 .

With Clip Studio Paint, you can use a whole range of different brushes and tools to create your own digital masterpieces. From oil painting to water colours, and even cel-shading, Clip Studio Paint is great for any kind of style. And with the Tab S8’s S Pen, it’ll be just like painting with a brush, especially if you link your Galaxy Smartphone to the app!

How to use Companion mode with Clip Studio Paint on your Galaxy Tab S8

To begin with, make sure you’ve got Clip Studio Paint installed and up to date on your tablet and your smartphone. If you’ve not got it, you can find it in the Galaxy Store. Both your devices will need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi.

  1. Open Clip Studio Paint on your Tab S8
  2. Tap “Connect to smartphone” in the Command bar
  3. You’ll see a QR code, which you’ll need to scan with your smartphone’s camera
  4. A popup will appear. Tap “Open in browser”
  5. Clip Studio Paint will open in Companion mode on your smartphone

Now that you’ve got Companion mode set up, you can use it as a shortcut remote to do all sorts of cool stuff in Clip Studio Paint on your Tab S8!

  • Quick access: you can use this to select different tools to edit the picture you’re working on
  • Colour wheel: this is your virtual colour palette. You can use it to select the exact colour you want, as well as to adjust the opacity and size of the brush you’re using
  • Gesture pad: control and move the canvas using gestures on your smartphone
  • Sub View: with this tool, you can import an image or take a photo then select its colours to use for your picture
  • Settings: here you have the option to customise what you use Companion mode for

Now that you’ve got Companion mode set up for Clip Studio Paint, there’s only one thing left to do: get creating some masterpieces!
