Back in January, Samsung Electronics launched the Galaxy S21. Our latest flagship phone is packed full of amazing features: from its cameras, which can take video in 8K, to its 5G capability and its super smooth 120Hz display, it’s pretty amazing. The S21 also comes with Super-Fast Charging, which gives you hours of power with just minutes of charging.

In fact, the battery is one of the S21’s best features: it can get you through a whole day, and well into the night. This means that you can keep using your phone non-stop, without having to plug it in until you get home. However, you might want your battery to last even longer so that you can make the most of even more of the S21’s features without worrying about charging. If this is your case, then this hack is for you.

Monitor the battery performance using Members app

Please note: you will need a Samsung Account to use the Members App

  1. Open the Samsung Members app and then tap Get help down at the bottom of the screen
  2. Open the Interactive checks section and tap Battery
  3. You’ll see information about how well the battery is functioning
  4. If the result for battery life is Bad, you’ll need to visit a Samsung Support Centre

Optimise battery usage with Adaptive battery

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the Quick settings panel
  2. Tap the Settings icon. It’s a little symbol that looks like a cog up in the top right corner
  3. Scroll down to Battery and device care. If you can’t find it, you can search for it using the magnifying glass symbol at the top of the screen
  4. Tap on Battery and then More battery settings
  5. Toggle the switch next to Adaptive battery. This way, you can limit how much battery is used by apps that you don’t open very often

Save battery power with Motion smoothness

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the Quick settings panel, then tap the Settings icon
  2. Select Display then tap on Motion smoothness
  3. If the screen refresh rate is Adaptive, change it to Standard
  4. This will help you to save battery by reducing the refresh rate of your screen
  5. Select Apply to confirm
