Please note: You will need a blood pressure monitor to set-up this Hack.

Keeping an eye on your blood pressure is one of the best things you can do for your health. If your blood pressure is within the normal range, it’s a good indication that you have a healthy heart. But having high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, can lead to a number of serious long-term health conditions, such as coronary heart disease and kidney disease.

There are several things you can do to maintain a healthy blood pressure, such as eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of exercise. Along with these lifestyle habits, another way to make sure you have a healthy blood pressure is to regularly monitor it for yourself at home. This way, you can gain deeper insight into your health and make more informed decisions about your wellness.

To help you with this, you can now measure your blood pressure using your Galaxy Watch3 or your Galaxy Watch Active2 and the Samsung Health Monitor app. Once your watch has been calibrated, it uses its heartrate monitors to measure your blood pressure.

How to measure your blood pressure with the Samsung Health Monitor app

  1. Open the Samsung Health Monitor app on your watch
  2. Select Blood pressure then tap Download the app
  3. Install the Samsung Health Monitor on the smartphone that you’ve paired your watch with
  4. Read and accept the terms
  5. Enable the permissions and tap Done
  6. Create a profile for yourself with your name and date of birth
  7. Select Blood pressure in the main menu of the app on your phone
  8. Tap Calibrate the watch
  9. Read all about how the process works then tap Get started
  10. Make sure your watch is snug around your wrist
  11. Put your blood pressure monitor on the opposite arm to your watch and start it
  12. Your watch will start measuring your blood pressure automatically
  13. On your smartphone, enter the results from your blood pressure monitor
  14. You will need to repeat this three times to get an accurate reading
  15. Your watch is now calibrated!

Once you’ve calibrated your watch using the blood pressure monitor, you’ll be able to measure your blood pressure with just your watch. The readings are then transmitted to your smartphone, where you’ll be able to see your history.

To improve the accuracy of your readings, you will have to calibrate your watch once every four weeks.
