Samsung pass wont import passwords "Can't import files of this type"

Old thread is outdated by at least two years and has an inaccurate  answer marked as the solution. Inaccurate because the app states itself that it will take a csv file. 

So, the whole go grab the passwords via export in the 3 dots menu then settings instructions, are failing. That method doesn't work. And so dar both my S22+ and now S25ultra only let Samsung  Auto fill be the auto fill for passwords outside the chrome  browser. 

Whats the method to get this to work. And if it doesn't work when can we expect a fix now that Samsung Pass officially  says it takes CSV files? #Galaxys25ultra why is not  in associated products  yet either?

I have never tried it but is the csv correctly formatted and file extension correct

Hi. Basically you can export passwords from a current source to cover and then import them from there.

You can do this mostly if you have passwords saved in your browsers like edge or Chrome.

Also Samsung pass should still be available to download from Samsung store.

i am also facing the same thing. the google password is in .CSV even though it shows the same image - same error

I know this thread is old but I found the solution: if you're trying to download your google/chrom passwords from mobile, I don't think it actually downloads anything 😐 if you check the file, there are no usernames or passwords there. 

Export from your computer browser instead, THEN upload to Samsung wallet. worked for me.
