Samsung Messages update 14.5.42.5 (2024.09.30)

Dear All

I was just notified to update Samsung messages to version 14.5.42.5 (2024.09.30) saying;

" If you do not update your Samsung Messages app, there may be some restrictions on using RCS features"

The question is, did any one of you get this update? if so, did it screw up the app or made it worse?

I am a bit sceptical about this update!

Even though I'm not using samsung messages, so cant really say anything on functionality but my one is on 15.2.30.7 and it has same message as well

I haven't had any notice like that, but only to tell me to upgrade. I get the message nearly everytime I received a new text. To me I'm not not that bothered about losing some RCS features as I never notice the difference, I rarely send photo pictures in the app if I do send to my partner we normally use Google chat or WhatsApp instead.

All I want is too have my phone clock set on the right time . Please that isn too hard for me when it should be simple this phone should have automatically change when the clock went back

My version on my S22ultra is 15.5.31.9 and i had an app update on Saturday the second one iv'e had within two months.

It should do, mine changes all the time when we move the clocks backwards and forwards.

So i assume that this update is a continuous commitment and not a degrading trick, thus the messaging app will continue to be useful for the time being 😄

Settings > General management > date and time > activate Automatic date and time, activate automatic time zone
