Samsung Internet Dark Mode doesn't work

Hey,

I’ve been using Samsung Internet for a long time and it’s always been solid. Dark mode used to be the best part, but lately it barely works. A lot of sites just stay in light mode even when system dark mode is on. It doesn’t force dark mode anymore.

Not sure if I’m missing a setting or if they actually downgraded the browser, but something definitely changed.

any suggestions on how get rid of this problem?

I'd advise checking this setting for starters.
Open Samsung internet, go to Menu > Settings > Webpage View and Settings > Dark Mode
Here, make sure the 'force dark mode for web content' toggle is in the 'on' position.
If this setting is set, and you're still having the issue, you'll have to try something like reinstalling it, or clearing the cache etc.
