Samsung Health duplicates entries from mynetdiary meal entriesy

When samung health imports meal entries from my Mynetdiary app, it multiplies all lunch and dinner entries multiple times.  For example, today's dinner entries had 5 items for 785 calories. When it's imported into Samsung Health it shows 50 items and 8,106 calories.

Breakfast doesn't seem to be an issue, but lunch, dinner and snacks always has this ridiculous multiplication of all entries. It's the correct food items, but multiplied by a factor of 10.

Can't find any similar issues discussed online, but there are reports of multiple exercises being imported,  just no mentions of this at all.

Help.

Are you sure you're not cheating 🤣
I find most 3rd import ins can be hit and miss, might be better just using the SHEALTH food directly.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK Community Forum

Sorry to hear of your issues.

It is more likely to be a conflict between the 2 apps than a Samsung Health issue on its own. You'll need to reach out to the App Developers (email address will be on the app or in the play store).

Agree with @Obsydian that you would be better entering the data into S Health directly.

Hey I just want to confirm this bug happens to me too, and I found a workaround, assuming you want to prioritize mynetdiary for calorie counting.

If you go to Samsung Health app settings, then Apps in the "Connected apps and services" group, press "MyNetDiary".

Enable write and read for everything, but uncheck "Nutrition" for "Allowed to read". This will force nutrition data to be one-way only: MyNetDiary -> Samsung Health App.

What's happening is some bug somewhere is forming a loop of reads and writes. MyNetDiary writes calories to Samsung Health, then reads to update/sync it's own nutrition data from the Health app, sees its own additions, rewrites those to itself as new data, then realizes it needs to sync this new data to the Health app, writes that to the Health app (duplication), etc etc and duplicates records many many times.

I knew something was wrong when Samsung Health was telling me I had eaten 30 taco bell bean burritos today despite mynetdiary only showing 1.

That syncing logic needs to be rewritten, just not sure which app is at fault lol. Really they could both prevent this from either side, so I'd blame both for not checking for this edge case (I'm a software engineer which is why I'm aggravated, but I don't work for either company).

Hope this helps a bit. Once you update those settings, it'll resync correctly and duplicate entries should disappear.

worked perfectly after trying your "fix"! Had the same problem with My fitness pal food log being duplicated! Thanks so much!
