Samsung health cycling app suddenly reporting inaccurate data

I use the Samsung Health Cycling app while road riding as well my GarminConnect Device to track my rides. Up until about 2 weeks ago, both apps were pretty much on the mark with each other.

Then suddenly, my 14 mile ride turned into an 18 mile ride and my average speed suddenly climbed 4 mph as compared to the Garmin. As these are routes I have ridden time and time again, I knew the Samsung was exaggerating my results.

It syncs up with the bike via two garmin sensors - cadence and speed/distance. It also connects to my Garmin HR monitor. No issues there. I removed the cadence and speed sensors and reconnected them. No difference. I verified the bike specs - tire size - had not changed.

Not a huge issue and am considering finally upgrading my old Garmin Edge 25 to something more modern, but it works great and serves my purpose. But I have always liked tracking the data in Samsung Health as well.

Odd then, is there Revolution setting, like some running sensors do for stride calibration.

Sounds like one of the apps has changed something, you could try rolling back to an older app version (apk download and install but ensure it's legit).

No much in setting options on the sensors - tire size is the only thing and it reflects the correct size. It's more of a nuisance issue than anything as my Garmin Edge 25 remains accurate. But it's tiny (large watch size) and I really use it to collect data. Might consider going to a modern upgrade the Garmin Edge 25 (it's like 9 years old) with a larger screen.

Hi, I encounter the same issue. My Garmin spped sensor tracks exaggerated avg. speed and distance, even though the current speed seem corrent. Did you manage to solve this?

I gave up with the health app for cycling and rely on the Garmin Connect. I should try it out on my older bike with the Trek stuff, but like riding my new Domane too much.

I use the health app with my samsung wrist band.
