Hi @RenG, go in to the Email app, long press on an email until it is selected, the rap "Read" icon at the bottom. This will mark it as read. You can mark multiple emails via this option. Hope this helps.
When you get the notification, you can swipe down from the top of the screen, and there will be an option there to mark it as read.
Are you using the default Samsung Email app?

I just double checked this on mine, and I get the option to mark as read. What phone do you have? Did you try re-adding the email account on the phone?
