Once I updated to one ui7 on my s24 ultra the lower mic has stopped working on any apps but the official Samsung phone app. I have factory reset the device, I have cleared the cache and I have checked permissions too. I know it isn't a hardware issue as just hours before the update I sent voice notes to friends on whats app and it sounded perfect. It also sounds perfect on phone calls. From posts on reddit it looks like a few others are facing this issue since the one ui7 update. Can you please issue a fix? It is specifically the lower microphone.

I can also confirm I got the official one ui 7 update and not the beta.

Updated my phone a week ago, mic1 (lower) simply died, only records that static sound. When I first noticed the problem I could still hear something through the static, but now can't hear anything. During calls it works fine, don't know if it's because mic2 is being used, but on anything else, even on voice recorder app, it just doesn't work.

So OP here. Yday I got the one ui8 update on my s24 ultra and it seems like the mic issue was fixed. At least it's a lot better now then before in the voice recorder app and what's app. Will keep testing

So when I recieved the one ui 8 upgrade these are the steps I did.
I turned off mic access
I turned off Bluetooth (as I thought my oneplus watch might have caused the issue)
I turned off wifi and used mobile Internet.
Updated the phone to one ui8 update. Restarted the phone, tested the mic by giving the voice recorded access again and the volume wasn't perfect but it was a lot better than usual. Then I cleared the cache and restarted again. It is now almost like it used to be. So I am hoping it stays.
I can definitely confirm it is a software issue on my end though. I have done nothing to the actual mic. I really hope it works for all of you!

Thank you soon much for your feedback.
I have a S21+ version and have same issue . Since this one UI 7.0 is the last update for S21 , I will not benefit from UI 8.0 VERSION which seems to solve a problem I didn’t have before updating.
While trying to explain to Samsung expert at Samsung repair center that I don’t want a factory reset because lot of posts testify that It doesn’t solve the problem (this one from Samsung included!). Having said that, he told me that first community help on various sites is not a reference and then he suggested me to replace the hardware piece while i am telling I had the problem exactly after the update (proof with whatsapp voice mesages before and after uodate.)
I am really disappointed with Samsung and don’t like this way of pushing customer to buy new phones by this way.
Hope to find someone who found a solution on S21+

Agreed, I got the same advice in the Samsung stores that is hardware but there are multiple voice notes just prior to the updates that were crystal clear. Plus some native apps are crystal clear so I know it's not hardware. The only other advice was wait for an update. It's just not good enough

Extremely dissapointed to report my mic has gone back to becoming almost unusable again. Zeeo changes to hardware this is definitely a software issue. It's unacceptable
