Can anyone tell me why in mobile banking app debits to my account no longer show in a different colour to cash going out.

My feeling, you may have to contact the Bank team
Unless you have a friend /relative who has the same App and showing the information you are looking for

Additionally, check for updates of the App, restart the phone etc
