Hi @Dobby70 Welcome to the Samsung Community? Have you checked the Recycle Bin if you are using Samsung Messages. 3 Dot Menu- Recycle Bin. otherwise you would only be able to retrieve if the Messages have been backed up. Accounts and Back up,Samsung cloud-Restore Data.

It is the recycled Bin within Samsung Messages, only Messages are stored there. The Recycle Bin for My Files is different. Google Messages does not offer this option so if using that would need to have backed up.
