Incorrect incoming caller ID

I have an issue with my phone, where the wrong caller ID is displayed when someone calls me, so I'm answering thinking its the person on my screen, when it's someone completely different. I have searched this issue but can only find results for the other way around

what is wrong/incorrect, the name or number or caller pic? when did it start happening?

Both. I would say a month maybe

What happened a month ago? Changed phone or did something to contacts? If you don't have backup for some reason then it will be a manual job of correcting contacts data

nothing, it's a work phone so I don't install apps or change it in any way

Are those contacts work contacts? Got from work directory?

Ok so someone else has called me, and it showed me the same caller ID (incorrect one) as it showed me when someone else called me this morning... So it's  its like its stuck showing me one number/name, regardless of who's calling! It even saves the wrong number in my call history
