How i make an image file smaller

I have a Galaxy A13. I took a picture of my ID card using the camera and then I tried to uploaded it on airbnb website to verify my identity. But I couldn't uploaded it. A message showed up saying:

“The file you uploaded is too big. The image file must be smaller than 3.5 MB.”

The JPG file is: 3.99 MB. But how can I make it smaller? I suppose there must be something in Settings that allows me to do that but I don't know how to do it. Could you please help me with that?

Hi there. This can be done

Open the image using Gallery
Click on the edit icon
Chick on 3 dots top right

Resize

Done 🤞
