So I have had an update to Samsung messages and it said to upgrade to Google messages. I did and it changed straight away. Luckily, I haven't deleted Samsung messages so have saved it. I guess it won't be long before they get rid of it all together.
It's s shame. I hope they don't get rid of other Samsung Apps like calander, clock, reminders or notes. I like the way they look compared to Google versions.

Does anyone just use google apps??

I am still using Samsung Messages as I love it.

I don't mind Google messages if Samsung skins it with their UI instead of googles. I don't even like the Google messages icon

It's funny that Google is pushing us to update to use it's messages. Iv'e just had an update from the Galaxy Store for the Samsung messages app so are they really not going to support us when we want to stick to Samsung and not use Google messages.

Iv'e just had an update for the Samsung messages app from the Gakaxy store also one for the Samsung Capsure app and Samsung video app too, seems strange that Google wants us to use it's messages service if Samsung is still supporting us as well. If Samsung are not,why are they bothering to issue app updates. Iv'e had two updates since November for it. Samsung should issue a notice if there are going to withdraw it, but I've never seen anything official from them.

Iv'e just had an update for the Samsung messages app from the Galaxy Store tonight. Seems strange if they want us to start using Google instead. If so why issue updates for the app.

I think Samsung are looking to get rid of Samsung messages. Personally I've used Google messages for years and never had a problem.

Yep. I had the update, and then straight away, it came up with an upgrade to Google messages.
I've just been looking at Samsung nessages again, and apart from Google being able to do a thumbs up on a reply to a message, samsungs is far better. The categories of messages, the deleted messages etc. It even looks better 😆

It's not Google pushing you to use Google messages. It's Samsung that are planning to get rid of Samsung messages.
