Google Drive or OneDrive?

I recently made the switch back to android and Samsung, and I have been trying to figure out whether I should be using OneDrive or Google services to sync my documents and photos too etc.

I was wondering whether anyone has preferences of each they wouldn't mind sharing, as I have both but want to make sure things are a lot more seamless now for me - but I appear to be confising myself.

Advice would be wonderful :smiling-face:

I personally use both. My EE plan includes 2tb of Google storage, which i use for whatsapp backups, photo backups, device backups etc. Only downside to Google is, you can't actually select what albums you want to backup so it just backups everything, and also isn't integrated into Samsung gallery like Onedrive is, Which is why I'd pick Onedrive if your purely looking for photo/video backup.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have and I'll do my best to respond.

Thanks both, the Zapier article helps and I'm just running through some of my handset settings to make sure it's using Google to back up :smiling-face:

I also use both One Drive (have 1Tb)   and Google Drive (100GB)  .  However can see the comparisons, personally I would recommend having a few cloud options and  I also back up to local storage.  some information here, whilst  specifically talks about photos relevant  to files too.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Thanks, I also currently have both and have been using OneDrive for older images which I backed up from SSD many moons ago, and then I am now using Google One for all things Chromebook and phone related. I think that's what is going to be best for me going forward after doing the reading now.

This is what I had also found. Samsung via it's settings only will allow you to back up your gallery to OneDrive and not give you the option of Google Photos, so you have to go into the app to manage the settings (which is fine) but just slightly annoying.

I also found that whilst I thought my images were being backed up via Google Photos, the albums I had made on my handset in the gallery, none of which were being synced. So now I have selected which folders I want to sync to Google Photos, it's uploading it all as we speak... 4000+ images!! 😞

You don't need to go into the gallery settings to use Google photos. Google photos automatically backs up the DCIM folder which includes the camera folder but you can set it up to backup other folders.

Google drive is best for photos in my opinion. Just install Google photos. There's better editing tools in Google photos than OneDrive.
