Hi! I just upgraded from a Google Pixel 7 to a Galaxy S24. Nice phone.
But I now have 2 issues I didn't have before, using the Google Messages app.
1. Messages switching from SMS to MMS at low character count
RCS messages (of course) works fine. But SMS's switches to MMS for any messages longer than 201 chars (when not using emojis etc). This is quite annoying. I tried a couple of other SMS apps too, which seems to have the same issue.
2. Two SIMS not distinguishable in Messages
I have setup the SIM cards in SIM manager (in Settings), I've labeled them and chosen different colored icons. But in messages both SIM's are shown using the carrier name (Telia) and the same color (purple):

When I first tried the Samsung Messages app, I got a message that I should now use Google Messages instead. The limit doesn't seem to be Google's app, as I didn't not have these limits when using Google Messages on the Pixel phone, or on the Sony Xperia phone before that.
Trying a bit more, it looks to me like most Messages app on Samsung OneUI has a limit of max 3 SMS'es before it switches to MMS. I tried Samsung Messages, Google Messages, Pulse SMS and a couple of others.
One seems to have a different limit:
- Handcent Next SMS can assemble up to 7 SMS'es before switching to MMS.
(So, maybe not an OS limit after all? But why then does Google Messages have a different limit on Samsung than on other devices?)
There's a few I haven't tried, as I really like the ability to open Messages in a web browser/on other devices as well as my phone. So I haven't really tried those with no such functionality.

Googling indicates I'm far from the only person seeing this issue ...
