Samsung, please reconsider the new weather app design in One UI 8. The previous One UI 7 style was absolutely stunning and incredibly functional. Everything was perfectly visible, and the background provided excellent contrast for the text, making it easy to read at a glance.
The beautiful 2D animations were so fitting, and the background actually blended seamlessly with the illustrations. Now, if you scroll down, the background is just a generic blur of the illustration, which feels like a step backward.
There was no need for this change. The new design actually makes information harder to see and feels like an unnecessary downgrade. The One UI 7 weather app was the best-looking weather app on the market, and many Samsung users shared this sentiment.
While we've always wished we could tap on elements to see more within the app instead of being redirected to a website (likely due to agreements with Weather.com), that's a separate issue. Even if that specific functionality isn't possible, there's no reason to change what works!
We appreciate the effort, but this experiment with the new look is not an improvement. Please, just reverse it to the beloved One UI 7 design. It was beautiful, functional, and if you go through with this change, there is no way for users to go back to the OneUI 7 version as it's a system app.
