I thought it would summarise the steps I have used over the past decade, save lots of repeat posts, and hopefully solve issues or signpost where to go.
CABLE AA (Android Auto) - Connectivity issues
1. CAR, delete the mobile and any other unused BT profiles, key off, lock the vehicle, wait a few minutes.
2. MOBILE, delete the car and any other unused BT profiles in your BT settings.
3. AA MOBILE, go into apps, find AA, clear data and cache, also check if any updates
4. CAR - Connect the mobile with the USB cable, after ignition is on, not before.
If these steps do not work, the likely issues are as follows
1. Try another quality USB cable to rule out cable issues
2. Try another mobile, again to rule out the device
3. Check the AA Community for known issues; new ones are cropping up regularly
4. Check your car system for any updates. Car manufacturers are a nightmare at such updates.
NOTE: All the steps are the same for AA Wireless (less the cable)
