Hello

I am writing on behalf of one fitness watch community and we have a problem. There is a problem with an app / device and all seems to be connected because of Samsung (or Android).

The problem is that when "excersise" is started, the distance is not recorded. My problem has been that when I excersise with phone screen locked I get inaccurate data. When my screen is not locked I have gotten accurate data. The app is opened and running on foreground in locked / unlocked situation.

In other terms when I lock the screen the app seems to "go to sleep" or just the data does not move through phone / device.

This can be a device / app problem also, but I am looking for different sollutions. Samsung (or Android in general) phones are the ones that seems to be connected to this. I haven't heard that any other company phones have that problem and iPhone works flawlessly.

Is there anything that can put the app to "sleep / standby" when the screen is locked? Here are the sollutions I have tried / my settings were:

  • In "developer options" - "Limit Background Processes" is and has been set "Standard"
  • In "developer options" - "Standby apps" the app is "EXEMPTED and cannot change
  • In "Apps" - choosen app - "Battery" - the "Allow background activity" is ON and can not change it
  • in "Device care" - "Memory" - "Apps that aren't checked" I just added it there and haven't got the time to test it.

Are there any more options to try? Like I said, it CAN be an app problem or device problem.

Although there is an interetsting thing I found. In "Apps" - choosen app - "Battery" it shows background usage "0 min", but in "Device care" - "Battery" - it shows normal usage. The 0 min has been always even after I have used it on background.

Also, can it be that if I have biometric lock / pin lock on the phone the data just doesn't go through?

Hopefully you can advise me .
