We have a MC28M6055CK that was bought during the pandemic and its just started with the issue in this subject
After finding this thread for a similar issue, I thought I would post my issue too.

I wonder if there is any solutions to this? As Samsung seem to insist on cleaning the microwave, but the outside is clean? Things I have done:

Weirdly the quick start button has been behaving for a while now. Screen sometimes glitches and only displays some of the details but, that is again random.
We will put up with this for a while, as I refuse to pay for a new microwave or out of warranty repairs, while this one is functioning

Did you ever manage to get this fixed?

Hey James, my one has the same issue with dropped led segments.

I just binned mine in the end.
It was shame because it had hardly been used.
samsung were no help whatsoever I just bought another brand
Every appliance I have is Samsung, oven, American fridge freezer, washer and heat pump dryer etc
When they break, which they will at some point and am going to go for the German brands
I have learned after spending £1000s with them, they just don’t care

Yes, I have the exact symptoms: quick start (or any start) only worked after pressing eco, and shortly after this, 2 LED segments are permenantly unlit. This continued for a week or three, but at least it could be operated 30 seconds at a time, by hitting eco then start. Now, the start button won't respond at all in any state. I won't spend half its value rapairing it, and I won't buy another Samsung microwave. It's only 2 years old, used maybe 4 times a week, and mint condition. Very dissapointed in the quality.

I had a horrible time trying to fix this problem and in the end had to throw my two year old microwave in the dump.
This is a chip issue. When the chip in the control board is not functioning anymore you will experience problems with all buttons and ability to use your microwave. This control board can be replaced by either a service center or yourself. It’s not hard to replace. There’s plenty of tutorials online. However finding the part availability is next to impossible. I went to many different online services to purchase this very expensive part. Half the price of the microwave itself. All of them said they had the part but it wasn’t in stock. Weeks go by and eventually they said (all of them) they believe the part I need is discontinued.
Basically Samsung has you buy a microwave that will have a control board that will die directly after the warranty is expired and they will stop producing the control board for this. So what do you do? You’re left with having to bin it which is incredibly unsustainable and absolutely apprehensible. Samsung should be ashamed of how they treat customers and the environment. I will never again buy a Samsung product.

Very similar symptoms: Fading 7-segment-bars. (Quick) Start only works if preceeded by STOP. (Sudden change in behaviour!) . Then after some weeks Start completely unresponsive. BUT it still worked every now and then. Now I may have found a workaround that even may lead to a solution (for us!):
I noticed a pattern, a rule for the sporadic cases it actually still works. The START/+30 Key is more like a bar, and (here!) it simply works, when you hit it close to its left border. But NOT when you hit it in the middle or on its right side. (Your mileage may vary.) This may be just a "side" effect (no pun intended), but it works like this for half a day now. A friend knows how to get rid of those foil keyboard trouble on remote controls without replacing it, and it should be the same issue here. I'll keep you updated.
