Hi I got the update yesterday (14/08/2025) and since then I cannot transfer files from my phone to PC or get wired android auto. Fast charging does not work either despite me having a genuine samsung cable. The only time I got my phone to connect was when I cleared cache in recov. mode and then restart while the PC is plugged in. But as soon as I eject and plug back in nothing, just charge, I do not get the USB options notification and I've tried every single setting and tip. I need my phone for work and it is essential that it connects to my PC. I did not choose to install one UI 7.0 I hate this update. But it installed anyway so yeah screw you samsung you're doing just like apple

I understand your frustration. It's incredibly annoying when a software update breaks essential functions of your device, especially when you rely on it for work. The issues you're describing—inability to transfer files, Android Auto not working, and fast charging failing—are all related to the USB connection, and it sounds like the One UI 7.0 update is the culprit. While it's true that major updates can cause unforeseen problems, there are a few things you can try to resolve this.

The fact that you were able to get it to work once after clearing the cache and restarting is a key clue. It suggests that the problem isn't a physical hardware issue, but rather a software conflict or a bug that's causing the phone to not properly initiate the USB connection protocol.

Here are some steps you can take, from simplest to most involved:

1. Re-check the basics (even if you think you have):

Try a different USB cable: I know you said you're using a genuine Samsung cable, but even genuine cables can be faulty. It's always worth trying a different one, if you have access to one, just to completely rule out the cable as the issue. Try a different USB port on your PC: A different port might have a different driver or be more stable. Try a different PC: This will tell you if the problem is with your phone or your PC's configuration.

2. More In-depth Troubleshooting on your Phone:

Clear the cache partition again: You've done this, and it worked temporarily. It's a good first step to try again if the problem persists. You do this by booting into recovery mode (as you've done) and selecting "Wipe cache partition." This doesn't delete your personal data. Reset USB settings: Go to Settings > Apps. Tap the three dots or the filter icon in the top right corner and select "Show system apps." Find and tap on "USB Settings" (or a similarly named system app). Go to "Storage" and then "Clear cache" and "Clear data." This will reset the USB connection settings to their default state. Check Developer Options: First, you need to enable Developer Options. Go to Settings > About phone > Software information, and tap on the "Build number" seven times. Go back to the main Settings menu, and you should now see "Developer options." Scroll down to the "Networking" section and look for "Default USB configuration." Make sure it is set to "File transfer" or "USB controlled by: This device."

3. Troubleshoot your PC:

Update USB drivers: On your PC, go to the Device Manager. Find the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section. Right-click on each entry and select "Update driver." You can also try uninstalling the driver for your phone when it's plugged in (it will likely show up under "Portable Devices" or "Other devices" when the connection is flaky), and then unplug and re-plug the phone. Windows will then try to re-install the correct driver. Check for Windows updates: Ensure your PC has all the latest updates, as some may include compatibility fixes for new devices or Android versions. Try a different PC: As mentioned before, this is the best way to isolate the issue to either your phone or your computer. If it works on another PC, the problem is with your original computer's drivers or settings.

4. Temporary Workarounds:

Wi-Fi File Transfer: While not ideal, as a temporary solution to get your work done, you can use a Wi-Fi file transfer app to move files. Apps like "Send Anywhere," "Files by Google," or even Samsung's "Quick Share" can work over your local Wi-Fi network to transfer files between your phone and PC. Cloud Services: Use a cloud storage service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive to transfer files.

Given that this is a known issue for some users after a major software update like One UI 7.0, it's possible that a patch will be released by Samsung in the near future to address these bugs. Keep an eye out for any small updates that might be pushed to your device. If none of the above steps work, your best cours
