I'm just setting up a new Galaxy Z Flip3 and I've a couple of questions about the Gmail app...
1) Can it be used for any email account or only gmail accounts? That might seem like a dumb question - but my older Android version had 2 x mail apps. One was called Gmail and the other was just called Mail. I ended up using Mail (assuming that Gmail was only for gmail accounts).
2) One of the restrictions (with Mail) was that you couldn't disable it temporarily. For example, if you didn't want to receive mails for a short period, you were out of luck! Can the GMail app be set up to not receive emails temporarily?

Thanks Steve - and what about the ability to disable email receptions occasionally? Can that be done in the GMail app? I know that some apps support it (e.g. Thunderbird) but I'm not familiar with GMail.

Anyone else know if the GMail app will allow received emails to be enabled and disabled occasionally?
I came across this web page which talks about changing email notifications in GMail. Is that the same thing as enabling & disabling accounts? i.e. if I disabled notifications for an account, does that stop GMail from downloading its emails? Or does it still download them - but it just doesn't notify me??
