I dont know if it is the bank's policy or android 13 update or a bug in the recent app update rolled out on 7th December by the company's developers but it is extremely inconvenient for me not being able to use the app as this app is my main point of managing all of my money and I cant do it from a flagship and world's most expensive device, the Z fold 4 as my one and only phone right now. The app worked perfectly during the first couple of months after I purchased the device. Didn't know that it will stop working someday on this particular device. The app is still working perfectly on my wife's Galaxy Note 20 ultra. After going through the reviews on Google PlayStore it is now clear that it is infact the device that either got blacklisted by the bank or messed up with a bug in its very recent december security update.

Im sorry to hear that. You might have to move to a different bank from Halifax or Lloyds to use banking apps. I wont recommend changing phones as the same issue might reappear in another phone due to the reason that the issue being caused by Lloyds Banking Group's new automatic and stupid fraud monitoring system that blocks the app access to the account holder based on history. I was told about it from one of thier branch staff. This means that if your account access was ever blocked in any device there is a chance that your access might be blocked again in future no matter what device youn are using whenever their stupid fraud monitoring system becomes suspicious on your activity randomly. They said they did it for the sake of security to their customers.

I hope they will communicate with each other. Unfortunately, there are many major UK banks not compatible with Samsung pay but compatible with Google pay. From a software developer perspective this is an indication to me that UK banks generally do not trust Samsung and are not working closely. These banking apps are mainly designed for Google's Android OS versions without taking into account that Android being an open source project is modifiable by other companies like Samsung or OnePlus to introduce their own version of Andoid like OneUI 5.0 by Samsung or Oxygen OS by OnePlus. Thats why the UK banking apps generally stay confused in these non plain Android OS from Samsung or OnePlus thinking it to be some malicious bloatware. I hope in future the UK banks are gonna welcome Samsung with their payment platforms as a more trusted and innovative company.
