bought samsung z flip in april this year had problem with red and green stripes going through screen. So went to samsung shop was told i would have to send mobile phone back to them and if it needs repairing it will cost me £314.  Itold them that im a pensioner and in bad health so need my phone and they said there is nothing they could do. I am absolutely furious as the phone is gonna cost me altogether with interest nearl £1000. yet they still want to charge me £314 to get it fixed. I have only made 3 payments on it. im furious and going to ombudsman see if they can sort it out for me. Always bought samsumg phones but after this will never buy again and i will let other people know what has happened.

Sorry to hear of the troubles you're having.

Did Samsung say why this wasn't covered under warranty? If the damage was due to the user then it would be chargeable.

(sorry to say this but being a pensioner or in bad health is somewhat irrelevant - if the damage is user error then all phone manufacturers would expect you to pay - if it wasn't user damage and it was confined as a hardware fault them warranty should apply).

Did Samsung directly supply the phone @liverangel or was it by another shop or network 🤔 

If the phone wasn't supplied by Samsung then go back to the merchant and ask them , as they would be the one's that apply the warranty. 

If Samsung supplied the phone and they have rejected a Repair under warranty, then typically they'll stick to that. 

Alternative avenues could be Home Contents Insurance and or some bank accounts provide cover as a perk of the account.
