Does anyone know why I only get the VoLTE on sim one (EE) and not sim two (Vodafone UK), both are 4G networks? I know I'm roaming right now, but that is how it is in the UK. Also network mode in settings for EE shows 5G/LTE while Vodafone shows 5G/4G?

My understanding are that LTE (shortened from Long term evolution) and 4G were both from the similar timeline and rolled out similar times to networks

LTE was the initial evolution between 3G and 4G.

Full 4G is faster than LTE typically... there are a few technical differences in terms of packet and data switching, but essentially there is not a lot between them.

Some networks show LTE and some show 4G. I have the same differences between my O2 Sim (shows 4G) and my Idmobile Three network (LTE).

If you want to know more there is plenty of data on the Web with a search.

I think LTE and 4G are the same but I could be wrong here.

As a Voda user on a S22U I never get the label of VoLTE and I can't turn it on or off but whenever I'm on a call my signal drops from 5G to 4G and stays on that until I end the call then it goes back to 5G.

I just put it down to how Vodafone operates their network maybe? It's never concerned me as it just works as it should - I wonder if other Voda customers have the experience 🤔
