photos when viewed in gallery are not showing and can only see grey screen with exclamation mark on it

When I take a photo or video then go to view it in gallery all I get is grey screen and exclamation mark any one else got this problem with s9

Hi @rjm0206. Are your photos/ videos saved to the internal storage or an SD card?

By the sounds of it the files have become corrupted, where they on a SD card as this is when it normally happens. Theres not much that can be done in cases like this. sorry not been much help.

It has just started doing this on my S8 take a picture it shows for a while then the gallery just shows Grey with exclamation mark.  Wonder if the app has just been updated and Samsung have broken it.

Same here. One day they are fine the next some are grey squares. 

Also find some photos look fine in gallary but when viewing each some scroll only yo ben shown half grey and even blue like it wont dowload. Which is weird and annoying. 

Is it the gallary app failing or something else?

I have same issue and I just recently did a software update everything was fine. I put my SD into another device and my laptop and its fine. I also can see all photos in 'My files' so not entirely sure what the issue is or how to resolve it.

Any advice would be great.

Also encryption of my SD card made no difference

I decrypted and restarted my phone and its all back to normal. I suspect it was one of the themes I downloaded and applied as it is no longer in my themes.

I keep having an error come up with q grey back ground with this in the middle of it ! 

I also got a samsing galaxy memory card for this phone I've gone though memory cards and it still happened with the error and got this memory card as its samsing it's good make

Cant believe its 2020 and this problem still exists.. I've lost many photos to this bs. 

Praying for the day I can afford another iPhone...
