So I got my S9+ this morning (upgrading from an S8) and I noticed the option to change the background of messages is gone. Has this feature been removed or is it still available under another menu? It's a shame that I can't find it because I really liked that feature from the S8.
Thanks in advance for any help given.
Hi @CFCluvver32. We’re going to check whether this feature has been moved or removed for you. In the interim, you can customise the look and feel of your S9 by heading to the Samsung Theme store. Either Long press on an empty spot on your Home screen > Themes > Look for one you like, or Settings > Wallpapers and Themes > Search the Theme store.
We will get back to you.
Thank you for your assistance, I really appreciate it.
Thus far, I haven't found the option to change the messages background so I'm guessing that feature has probably been removed. Nonetheless I'm still love my S9+ - it's such an amazing phone! The folks over at Samsung really have outdone themselves with this phone.
Anyway, thanks again for your help.
I just got my s9 today and I am also upset about not being able to change the messages background. I don't want a theme; I like to use my own photography. Please add this in an update! Thanks!
Any update on this? I was on the 7 Edge and just upgraded and this is also a feature gone.
Like everyone else, I also like to use my own photos or images rather than spend money on a theme that looks good in some places and not so much in others.
It may seem like a petty request/update but it changes the feel to the phone so much.
Right now I got a plain boring white background
Samsung continues to make changes to things even when it is not an improvement. Why remove the option to change the background in message app? How is that an improvement? If it ain't broke...
I purchased the S9 on Saturday and just discovered the option to change message background is gone! I have 7 more days to change my mind and return the phone and now finding out about a missing feature, is swaying me to do so. 😞
