What are these notifications? I don't even have Netflix on the phone!

You have a device(s) connected to local network (router), like chromecast or android TV which is playing something on netflix or youtube. The phone is connected to the same local network, can see that device and you should be able to control it from your phone.

I assure you I have not. I am on holiday and have nothing connected to my phone. These notifications only started today.... 😲

I can assure you have. You are on holidays, but you are connected to a WiFi which has another connected device playing Netflix or YouTube and you phone can see it. That is not a notification, but the controls for the play back of the device.

You could try pausing, muting or next video and the device whichever it is will obey your phone's command.

Your device is connected to a WiFi network which is also connected to a TV. Anything playing on that TV can also be controlled through these notifications.
