Secure folder - problem after upgrade to android 16

Hello,

after updating my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to Android 16 and One UI 8.0, I encountered an issue with the Secure Folder (Private Folder). The “Select and Search with Google” function stopped working — whenever I try to use it, I get a message saying that the feature is unavailable or disabled.

Additionally, after the update I have browsers installed inside the Secure Folder, and when I try to upload a photo to a website, a menu appears allowing me to choose between my personal profile and my Secure Folder. However, when I select “Choose from Secure Folder Gallery”, no photos are displayed, even though I do have files stored in the Secure Folder gallery. Instead, only the photos outside of the Secure Folder are visible.

I would like to emphasize that all available system updates and all application updates (both from the Google Play Store and the Galaxy Store) are installed on the device. The phone does not indicate any pending updates.

My two main concerns are:

1 - No access to the "Android" - "Data" folder on the files manager: Shows a message stating that due to android restrictions the content can only be shown on PC.

2- No more circle search, I was extremely useful to be able to use it on secure folder

If anyone has a workaround that please let me know, I also used to have another app called Files by marc apps that was pretty useful to be able to manage hidden files and it stopped working after the update.

t used to work unless you were in an app where no screenshots are allowed, such as some chats or banking apps

Yes, they srewed up the secure folder with the Android 16 update. All Apps that are istalled on my Xcover7 Pro in the secure folder, except the Samsung file browser, cannot access data inside the secure folder anymore, since that update. Before, everything was fine!

After android 16 update, Files 16 is not working inside secure folder. It keep crashing whenever we opening it. Outside the secure folder is fine. Please fix it. Thank you

Yes, all of us having this issue have the secure folder set up correctly and have been using it regularly before this update crashed the access to files in the browser and browser based apps. It's not about the setup of the Secure Folder.

Yes the Samsung support does not get the problem, its simply useless!

Hello, on my Samsung F34 I'm also encountering the same problem for the circle to search, however uploading files seems to be working fine by samsung internet , as I'm getting to options to pick files and images either from personal or from secure folder. Although gemini app is not opening itself which could be the reason for the circle to search feature not being worked as it is disabled inside secure folder. However if any browser is installed on secure folder, then gemini website opens when we tap on gemini app. Hope our problems gets fixed quickly. Someone reply if it gets fixed on oneui 8.5 or later
