samsung s25 moisture warning is too sensitive

I found this error comes out only when I open the sliding door of my balcony state room on a cruise. After closing the door, I can use the usb to charge the phone. Samsung needs to address this issue with a software update.

Salt water is a lot more conductive than normal water. So less salty moisture is needed to trigger the alert.

Since most people won't be at sea, it'll be setup for normal water conditions. Short of detecting your location to tell if you're at sea, I doubt there's any way for them to fix your issue

Hi! Welcome to the samsung members community!

Rather that then my phone brake from sea water. The phone doesnt know where you are, it knows when something is wrong/ is going to damage the port

I wouldn't call it a problem, it's working correctly.

Lemme explain what it's actually detecting.

In the usb port of your phone lets say it has 4 pins. Normal conditions, they never have any contact. Plus in a charger, it connects to the pins and charges normally.

When the phone detects those pins have electrical contact with eachother, it assumes water has entered the usb port.

So your phone is telling you the usb pins are making contact when they shouldn't be.

So normal conditions there is no connection at all. Your sea air is causing a connection.

My guess is your s23 doesn't have as advanced of a usb port. Meaning it couldn't detect the connections

Any fluff in the USB port?

Some phones like people are not built for Sea life ☺️

I've had an issue with this notification well on my S24U when I went to a small island with sea mist in the air. I've not been able to charge reliably by cable since.

I'll double check the port though it's not coincidence.

I've given the socket a better clean out with a kit and it's working now again without the warning. Relieved as I use USB C for file transfers to SSD and Dex. See how it goes.
