Dear Samsung Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. As a dedicated Samsung user and an advocate for the DeX ecosystem, I would like to propose an idea that could significantly enhance the productivity and gaming potential of Samsung devices—an official Samsung eGPU Dock.

With the recent addition of Thunderbolt 4 support in Samsung flagship devices such as the Galaxy S24/25 Ultra and the Tab S9 Ultra, there is now an opportunity to introduce an external GPU (eGPU) docking system that seamlessly integrates with DeX. The dock would function similarly to Valve's Steam Deck Dock or other modular docking solutions, allowing users to simply dock their phone or tablet to gain access to enhanced GPU power for a desktop-like experience.

Key Benefits of a Samsung eGPU Dock:

  1. Significantly Boosted Performance for DeX – An eGPU would enable smoother multitasking, video editing, and even gaming within the DeX environment.

  2. Improved Gaming and Emulation – Users could run higher-end games, cloud gaming services, and powerful emulators with better graphics performance.

  3. Enhanced Creative Workflows – The dock could help professionals in video editing, 3D rendering, and graphic design, eliminating the need for a traditional laptop.

  4. Seamless Switching Between Mobile and Desktop Use – Users could dock their phone upon arriving home or at work, instantly transforming it into a high-performance workstation.

  5. Expanded Compatibility with Samsung Galaxy Tab Series – The dock would be wide enough to accommodate both Samsung smartphones and the Galaxy Tab lineup, effectively turning them into powerful laptops when combined with DeX and an eGPU.

  6. Increased Storage & Connectivity – The dock could feature USB-C hard drive support for external storage or even offer a premium/Galaxy Dock version with an internal SSD slot that can be swapped out for enhanced local storage.

Potential Features of the Dock:

  • Built-in eGPU for significantly improved graphics processing.

  • Cooling System to manage heat from both the phone and the GPU.

  • USB & HDMI Ports for peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, and mice.

  • Power Delivery to charge the phone or tablet while docked.

  • Wireless DeX Support for users who prefer a cable-free setup.

  • Internal SSD Bay (Premium Version) for additional storage expansion.

This concept aligns with Samsung’s vision of bridging the gap between mobile devices and full desktop experiences. By introducing an official Samsung eGPU Dock, the DeX ecosystem could take a significant leap forward, attracting even more power users who seek a laptop alternative powered by their Samsung devices.

I truly believe that this product could revolutionize the way we use DeX and encourage more users to adopt Samsung’s ecosystem over traditional PCs and laptops. I would love to hear your thoughts on this concept and whether it is something Samsung might consider developing in the future.

This is quite a cool idea, although Samsung don't actively view this so add it to the feedback section of the Members app for them to see!😊

No Samsung phones support thunderbolt. Plus no Samsung devices support pcie. It's not possible to add an egpu with how phone chips are designed. This reads like it's an ai making things up

It's a novel idea, but completely pointless. External GPUs will still need a far more powerful CPU to actually make them worthwhile but even more so the software would need to be overhauled massively. The games on Android are not targeted for the highest end GPUs on phones let alone a standalone desktop GPU. There would be practically no use case scenarios on android and an extremely expensive "project" just to fill a niche emulation crowd with DeX.

Completely agree with you both. Such a simple but intelligent concept so my advice is run with it & good luck with the endeavour 👌🙏💯
