Since the above update, I am no longer to answer calls, view texts from the screen prompt, or view content from any other screen prompt. The update initially downloaded at 13:29 CST (which is odd, since I am set to download updates at 02:00). I then manually pulled the update, and poof, now I have all these issues.

Installing Google Phone from the app store has resolved the issue so far as being able to answer calls. I also had to set the Google Phone as the default application in settings.

Already tried this. Also did a factory reset. Both failed to resolve the problem. Now here is something interesting. If, and only when I am in settings, I can answer a call. The notification prompt appears at the top of the display, and responds correctly to either answer or decline a call. This is NOT the behavior when I lock the display or exit settings. When I exit settings or lock the display, the notification appears larger at the bottom of the display. The answer or decline icons display but are unresponsive. Call Assistance is responsive, as is the < "back" prompt (which takes me back to the notification prompt). But the app fails to either answer or decline a call except when I have setup open. I cannot say for certain, but this may be a software defect.

I have found a work-around. There is an option in settings to "Press Volume Up to Answer Calls." It's an ugly workaround since I now have to touch the phone in an inconvenient place to answer a call. There are other features that don't work with this setting, such as receiving another incoming call and conferencing. But it has enabled me to at least have a basic method to answer calls when they come in. THIS ISSUE is unresolved. This is a workaround only. I have not, but plan to tomorrow. Our industry is so riddled with defects since the adoption of a DevOps development cycle. I get going faster, but so many defects.... I will update this thread with the outcome of the support discussion. Thanks for the help.
