Moving into your new S25U

HI so decided after all to go for the new S25U which has just arrived. Now in the past I have always just transferred all files, data, apps and settings to my new device. But sometimes it has pulled things over I dont use anymore.

How do others do this ? app by app new install or just a full on samsung switch which drags everything over ? might sound like a stupid question but am curious as going through a new set up later today. Also does any one use launchers or you stick with native samsung UI ?

whilst Smart Switch usually works fine know some have experienced issues in the past and prefer a fresh install. I also prefer not transferring Apps.

I won't ever do that again because when I switched to a Sony for a couple of months, I couldn't find the app for my Pure radio on there and it was no longer available in the play store, but it was definitely still on my Samsung phone, and had transferred from my S23ultra to my 24, and subsequently my flip, I think I can download it off the net but not taking chances, I have a remote somewhere but the app is much more user friendly!

I have had issues too, but I try and do any system updates first, then do a reset, then switch stuff over

Personally I like to start from a blank canvas. I only synchronise contacts and messages. All apps i install again from scratch. Especially when moving from one Android version to another... I.e. oneui6.x to oneui7.

This just ensures there are no apps that are incompatible... occasionally the cause for current draw and battery issues.

I guess everyone has their own preference. I don't mind spending a few hours installing the important apps.

I've used nova prime for years ,one of the most useful feature is a multi page dock , which one ui doesn't offer , if they did i might use one ui instead . I didn't order the 25 uktra , as the bizzare decision by samsung to remove the bluetooth from the s pen is in my opinion a downgrade

Samsung Cloud for all my Data. 

Samsung SmartSwitch fkr my Gallery. 

Google Photos for my saved photos.
