I dont use the night camera but I noticed severe lag on photos when taking shots at a dark restaurant at night. It is very grainy and when you take a photo, their faces are blurred , grainy and out of focus. What a rubbish camera !

For night or darker shots, the camera lens is open for longer, the lag, it can be 0.3 seconds long or 1 or 2 secs etc. It allows the available light to reach the sensor. The phone needs to be very still. Try pro mode and find an optimum between shutter speed and iso values.
It's a bit trial and error unfortunately.

For a 2025 phone, I expected better. My friend's iphone is actually good and does not cause this lag. And also , when I take the night wide angle shots, i was very very still , even the subject was as frozen as they can.

Absolutely rubbish, out of 20, only 4 or 5 were acceptable. 1741517574748.jpg1741517574759.jpg1741517574768.jpg

Hello @okinrob. Your pictures don't look good, and are obviously out of focus. I would begin by clearing the camera app cache and then using touch to focus (and expose) with your finger on screen when taking photos. Teach your device how to focus. I had an autofocus issue on my S25 Ultra's Ultrawide in video, which I combatted by getting pro active with my on screen focusing. I showed my autofocus what was expected of it. This seems to have sorted things out for me, as the autofocus is now working on it's own, touch wood. I hope that my advice works for you.

The iPhone images are much superior then Samsung phones, it doesn't matter how much money into the hardware/software they don't seem to get it right. Big let down. The older models produce much sharpener images.
