Google Messanger showing Contact Names from different accounts

I've got multiple Gmail accounts on my new Samsung S25 Ultra and as a result, somewhere along the line SOME contact names are getting muddled in the Google Messages app.

• Phone App: Showing contacts only from Google Account A
• Contacts App: Showing contacts only from Google Account A
• Google Messages App: shows messages from contacts using names from Account A/B/C
  • e.g.: Account B (my daughter) has a contact called 'Dad', as do I in Account A and when my husband sends a message it shows up as 'Dad' and not as his name.
  • e.g.: When I get a message from my 'Dad' it shows up as coming from his name, which is what he's listed as in Account C

I've tried

• uninstalling Google Messages and reinstating it
• removing all Gmail accounts and readding them (this will fix some contact issues in Google Messages but create issues for other contacts)

It's really frustrating and I can't find a logical answer to it. Never had this issue with my Samsung S24.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! TIA.

Thats very confusing but i think I have the jist of it.

What account are these? Gmail? It doesn't really matter as they operate similar enough

Anyway go to
- settings
- accounts and back up
- manage accounts
and find the account and turn off contact sync for the ones you don't want
Leaving the account you want set to sync contact

Tap the 3 lines top right in contacts then manage contacts.

Thank you, but I've already done this (many times) but all that happens is the names on the text massages in Google Messages change around (some names from my contacts, some from Account b and C).  It's really odd, and no matter how many times I try, sign out of the gmail accounts/sign back in, restart the phone etc, nothing works.

Thanks but I've tried to merge them, no joy, unmerged them, no joy.

It's like the gmail contacts and the phone contacts and the message contacts are all jumbled DESPITE the syncing of contacts only being 'on' for MY gmail/phone

Thanks but the Samsung Messages app is not on the Samsung S25, they've removed it.

I decided to try to use the 'other' gmail accounts through Sunsung Email (and not Gmail) but the issue STILL persists!!! The only way to fix the Google Messages contact name issue is to NOT have the extra Gmail accounts logged in, in any way, at all, using any app. HOPELESS!!!! Honestly regretting 'upgrading' from my S24.
