As
@Joeeye mentions... the charging rates are not necessarily linear.
For example a 45w charger of a 5000mAh battery does not charge twice as slow as a 90w charger on a 5000mAh. There is more to consider.
I find 5000mAh on Superfast charging takes around 1hr to 1hr10 from low to full... depending on how low the battery is to start with.
Quoted times with 90w charging of a similar sized battery by Chinese manufacturers quote some 40 mins or so. Of course 1hr is not double that of 40m.
Some battery engineers would say that heat and speed of charging can not always be a good idea. Whilst chargers may become faster, typically high speed charging generates more heat. Long term heat excess can cause the battery cells to deplete quicker.
I personally believe that the time it takes to charge a phone is a fairly moot point.
40 mins.
1 hour.
Even ~ 2 hours turning off fast charge and using normal 25w speed doesnt concern me.
But I would like to preserve my battery longevity. So I usually opt for slower charging rates when I am not in a rush.
Caveat to above: i am not sure how newest tech... silicon carbon solid state batteries... react to these same assumptions above. Perhaps solid state will not suffer 'ageing' as much as lithium cells do.
