After reading some negative statements and some valid points to why there's not much difference in upgrading from a S23U to a S25U , I'm hesitant now... Need second opinions now... I paid £606 plus trading in my S23U 1TB for £440

Hey there

So I've had the pleasure of having the S25 Ultra for a couple of days whilst at Unpacked. I also own the S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra devices at this time (yes I have both)

There are significant improvements in the S25 Ultra including improved cameras, AI, screen and it is much lighter than other Ultra devices (just a few examples).

You've ordered the S25 Ultra for a reason......

Look forward to it. Embrace it.

Will it be HUGELY different? No. But it will be two years different and you will see some noticeable improvements.

One downside if relevant to you is that the SPen is not Bluetooth on the S25 Ultra but there is talk on the web that there may be a separate SPen with Bluetooth that may be purchasable but this hasn't (as far as I know) been confirmed as yet by Samsung.

I hope so, about the SPen. If not, S25U pretty much RIP for me.

Thank you i appreciate the time and effort i your review and advice, i dont really care much about the S Pen never used it, or the air gestures, im just hoping the battery is improved, ever since i bought the S23u in prelaunch it been pretty horrible, and hopefully with the better chipset, better screen with anti-reflection, and few upgrades it will be good .

If you don't care about the SPen, S25U will be a substantial upgrade from the S23U i reckon. S25U it's improved from S24U as well.

... and in addition to piper123 comments, although the youtube influencers are not all being very positive... many are comparing the upgrade from an S24u to an S25u without any generation jump.

The differences between the s23 and s25 will be bigger.

Evaluation is also done in a quick manner with a pre-release phone, often not finalised software, and generally a lot of things tend to become apparent during the longer term tests for battery life, efficiency, speed and performance. None of these can be assessed during the first few days and a learning phase.

I expect I will be pleasantly surprised... and I am also going to an s25u from an s23u.

For the record the s23u has arguably been the best phone I have ever heard. I have a minor anxiety about whether I am doing the right thing as well.

But you know what. Life moves onwards. If every time I couldn't make decisions that I'd decided against... then i would never move forwards with technology.

Finally for the past few years these phones have become SO GOOD that year on year it is hard to find ways to pick fault or improve on what is already a fantastic baseline phone. So I also understand why changes are more incremental these days.

I mean 'if it ain't broke then don't fix it' sometimes applies.

Like you i dont care about the Spen - i only ever took it out a few times and now it is just a relic in my s23 ultra. I had to think long n hard before I cancelled my pre order. And whilst I dont see anything wrong at all with the new model, and some minor improvements personally I just feel its not enough for my to justify the outlay. I might change my mind next week! Some of the review sites have really struggled to push the benefits of the s25U - but its biased because these are the same review sites (we know who they are) who constantly push you the affiliate links.

I know I would probably see quite a difference between my current model and the s25U but 1100 quid ? I dont know ... I was looking forward to getting it but im living with my choice. *for today! ...
