Camera Help?

Are there any hidden camera settings outside of the Camera app and Camera Assistant?

I’ve noticed that my S25 Ultra processes photos in a way that makes them look unnatural, even with Intelligent Optimization set to minimum and Scene Optimizer turned off. I made sure all the settings I’m aware of are identical to my S24 Ultra and took a side-by-side comparison photo at the same time to show the difference.

The S25 Ultra seems to add a brassy, overly dark and dramatic contrast—especially noticeable on the slippers. The S24 Ultra captures their true appearance, while the S25 makes them look darker, more mottled and brassy.

Is this just how the S25 Ultra processes images right now, or is there a setting I’m missing? Hopefully this improves with future updates if not!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thank you for your assistance; however, I am still experiencing this issue. My settings match yours exactly and I have tried all troubleshooting steps, yet the problem persists unless flash is enabled. Flash photography, unfortunately, never that pretty in the dark. I am hopeful a future update will resolve this, barring a hardware fault. I haven't encountered many others reporting this problem. The resulting images resemble oil paintings or AI-generated art rather than the realistic photos I expect and got from the S24 Ultra. The camera sometimes introduces artificial shadows and highlights, or conversely removes existing ones, over exposing and over darkening areas of images, resulting in a loss of detail. I am quite disappointed with this outcome, as I was truly in love with the camera on my S24 Ultra. Wondering if I did the right thing upgrading 😕. Already traded it in now.

Here's the full images. The tiles on the S25 image appear overly sharp and exaggerated, the slipper soles are too bright and the brown coloring seems brassy due to intense color and shadowing. The dark blue T-shirt also lacks highlighted detail due to over-darkening. The flooring is also too intense and lacking reflections. The S24s image is a much more accurate representation of the scene's real-life appearance. I'm not sure how to describe this issue... is it over exposure, under exposure, both, or something else? Describing it to support is incredibly difficult without being able to share the photos.20250208_205402_1000015779_1739048048.jpg20250208_205402_1000015778_1739048049.jpg

@Alannah-jw13 Sorry for your disappointment. I see what you mean, but to be honest, the difference isn't drastic or bad. Did you try the Expert Raw camera mode? In low-light conditions, Expert Raw can produce really good results.

Thank you, I just tried Expert RAW and it's a perfect alternative for when it gets too much! It completely removes the brassy effect and is great for the low light shots. Thank you so much! 😊 There's some cool new features there too, looking forward to trying astro portrait!

I'm happy if that helped ☺️. I personally love Expert Raw very useful and can make amazing results. Even better than night-mode. Also we can expect a software update soon i believe. Enjoy your 25U. Is amazing device. Have a nice day

I have a similar issue but it's mostly annoying with the selfie camera. Making me look like an AI generated character. The Expert RAW isn't a good alternative for selfies. I'm really disappointed in this phone. Really don't understand why they're forcing this filter on people instead of just offering it as an alternative. I really feel like this is borderline false marketing. Nowhere does it mention that this phone will automatically edit your photos and there's no way to turn it off. I will try to return the device and opt for something other than Samsung.
