The OEM factory wireless charging pad is refusing to charge my 25 Ultra. No matter the placement or if its in a case or not after 20 seconds I get an error. Turning on or off the wireless fast charge does not help either.

The wireless charger works for my S23 no problem.

Has anyone else this problem.

Thank you

Since this is isolated BMW charging pad issue, I will recommend contact the manufacturer to see if the s25 ultra is on their supported list.

Of course. Reported to BMW & Samsung. BMW gives comments about the similar issue with iPhone 15 in 2023 which ended up being fixed from Apple's side via firmware update & implies this issue might be a Samsung issue. Samsung brushes me off to the tune that since the wireless charger is not Samsung branded (so we need Samsung car outside S. Korea now?), this issue is not their problem.

Get a magsafe compatible car charger. I would not wait for a software update from Samsung at the first crossroad.

Since I got some BMWs and several Samsung phones, I do some experiments (not comprehensive because I am not THAT bored). I wait only for 2 minutes because for me, if it fails, 90% of the time it's within 20 seconds, the rest within 1 minute.

Car: 2019 BMW X5 G05 (non heated/cooled cupholder), 2024 BMW X5 G05 LCI (non heated/cooled cupholder), 2023 BMW 3series G20 LCI. Other brands tested: 2022 & 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Phone: Galaxy S10+, S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra (2 units), S24 Ultra, S25, S25+ (3 units) & S25 Ultra (4 units).

Result:
Hyundai Ioniq 5: All phones charges normally for at least 2 minutes.
BMW 3series G20 LCI: All phones charges normally for at least 2 minutes.
BMW X5 G05: All phones charges normally for at least 2 minutes.
BMW X5 G05 LCI: S22 Ultra is inconsistent (sometimes exact same error, sometimes charges), S25 works, ALL S25+ fails, half the S25 Ultra fails. All other phones works.

I went to local BMW to get diagnostics taken on the car, and while there tried the wireless charger on their display models (2024 X3 G01 LCI, 2024 3series G20 LCI & 2024 M2 G87) using just my personal 25 Ultra. All three failed.

The only conclusion I can make is that the newer your BMW, the higher the chance of you getting this issue. No idea if the fault is at BMW side or Samsung side.
