A question on button placements

Hi all. I'm planning on getting either a Pixel 9 Pro or a Galaxy S25+ as my next phone.

I'm using a typical third-party tripod/selfie stick (which has grip that runs across the display). So, I wanted to ask which phone would be ideal in terms of avoiding accidental button presses thinking about which phone has better button placement on the right side?

Looking at the design, both have the buttons around the same area, just flipped- s25 has volume above and power underneath, the pixle has power at the top and volumes underneath. So I imagine relatively the same. So have a look at your third party tripod and where it grips and compare to the buttons on both devices

I did had a look and have put it on my current device (Xiaomi 14). Obviously it's not possible to try them on the Pixel 9 Pro or the S25+ as i do not have those phones.

I'm very much aware of the button placements of both phone. And looking at GSMArena's 3D comparison tool it would appear the S25+ has a slightly adjusted (i.e. higher) power button so i can place the tripod's grip in the middle portion of the screen so can i can still use the power button and unlock the fingerprint scanner on the buttom part of the screen.

Can you see what i mean here?

personally- its a big choice to make, so id suggest going to a retailer which have them on display. S25 seems to have the power button in a better place

I could do that. But may look awkward turning up with a tripod and trying the thing on the phones.

I have another thought: If i choose to unlock a Pixel 9 Pro using Face Unlock then i don' need to worry about unlocking via fingerprint scanner or worrying about button placements and tripod grips. Would you agree?

Retailers are pretty chill with it, being that if that's your needs, they're likely going to allow you to have a gander. Some may be weird about you picking up the device and putting the tripod on but you could measure the tripod and compare to the phone.

Only issue with face ID is on android its not as good as the fingerprint, being they dont have the dedicated sensors such as apple

But, what is your take on this issue.

Are you a Pixel person or a Galaxy / Android person in button placements with regards to tripod palcemernts?
